Fun Stuff! Please Read – I need your feedback!
Hi all, I wanted to ask whether you would be interested in any of the following fun stuff - a pumpkin carving contest, a gingerbread house contest, baking/cooking clubs, and a food book club.
Pumpkin Carving Contest
Anyone interested? Not sure if I would host it this year, since I would have to create the rules soon, but maybe it’s something to think about for next year!
Gingerbread House Contest
I know it’s not December yet, but would anyone be interested in a gingerbread house contest? I’m trying to see how many people would be interested so that I can put rules together, possibly some cool prizes. The contest would probably start from November and go through December, with the winner being announced probably at the beginning of January.
Baking/Cooking Club
Anyone interested in joining a baking club or a cooking club? I know that some already exist, but I want to start a baking club and a cooking club, too. Why? Because I would love to have one that anyone can join – whether you have a blog or don’t have a blog, whether you make 10 recipes out of the book or only 1 recipe. I have basically already figured out how it would work. Anyone have any cookbook suggestions?
Food Book Club
Anyone interested in discussing books about food? Any book suggestions?
Please leave a comment below if you are interested in any of these things, and if you have any suggestions for books for the clubs. Also, I would host the pumpkin carving contest and gingerbread contest on this blog, but create a new blog for the baking club, the cooking club, and the food book club.
Thanks for your feedback!
*Also, I know that I have not been the greatest at updating my blog all the time, so you may not think I can keep up with these new things. However, in my next post I will explain why I’m taking on these new things and how I will manage them!

I would be interested in a PUMPKIN CARVING CONTEST!! Nick and I have that one in the bag. I don’t really like reading about food, but I am reading a book right now called “comfort Food”, which is very entertaining. I usally don’t read about food since everthing else about my life is FOOD! Ya know? But I would still be interested in a book club, definitely. Great ideas.

I am totally interested in a book club! I LOVE to read. I started The China Study recently. My only stipulation with the book club (this is completely personal!) is that I’m only going to be able to participate with books available at my library. Living on student loans means my budget for buying fun books is a sad $0
The gingerbread house would be fun too.

Oh, I definitely agree with you about the books being available at the library! I want everyone to be able to participate! I would also have that same rule for the baking club/cooking club – that the cookbooks be available at the library so that everyone can participate! Thanks for the book suggestion!

I’m definitly interested! I like Tosca Reno’s Eat Clean cookbooks and there’s one by Jackie Newcent called The Big Green Cookbook with seasonal ec-friendly recipes that I like as well.

Oooh they all sound fun!
I think I wan’t to go the extra creative route and do the gingerbread house. I haven’t done one of those in years and would love to make one for old times sake!

Thanks! And I know what you mean – I think I’ve only made a gingerbread house once before, but it was so much fun! I definitely want to make one again!
