Sweet and Savory

Good morning!  Hope everyone had a nice weekend!

Last night for dessert I decided to have some fruit and yogurt:

Grapes, apple, strawberry yogurt with pomegranate seeds

I’m finding that I like having something lighter for dessert.  The fruit has just enough sweetness to satisfy my sweet tooth, and doesn’t make me too full.  I also like having yogurt at night for something that tastes indulgent, and yest is good for you.

I had a strawberry Chobani last night topped with pomegranate seeds.  I think it’s a little too sweet for me to have it at the end of the night – I’d rather have it in the afternoon or morning.  At night, I think I’ll stick to the peach Chobani.  Even though it has the same amount of sugar as the strawberry yogurt, it tastes less sweet to me for some reason.  I think I’ll do that and I’ll also sometimes just have plain Greek yogurt mixed with a little bit of jam.

The grapes were perfect – nice and juicy and the perfect amount of sweetness.  I didn’t eat the apple because the yogurt and grapes made me full, along with the glass of water I had with it.

Since I didn’t eat my apple last night, I just saved it for breakfast this morning.  Here’s my breakfast plate:

Brown rice, apple with cinnamon, chicken with spinach, prociutto, and cheese

I’m finding that I like heavier meals and more savory dishes in the morning.  I’ll eat oatmeal and waffles in the morning, but usually I’m just not in the mood for all other breakfast foods.  I find that I have more of an appetite when I have savory dishes because they appeal to me more.

Anyway, I heated the leftover apple from last night along with the rice and chicken.  The apple got all nice and soft, but not mushy, and it smelled wonderful when I sprinkled some cinnamon on top.  Yum!  Thanks to Elise for the suggestion!

This breakfast was great!  I loved it!

Hope you all enjoy your day!

Good post, I like your writing style! I’ve added http://fabanddeliciousfood.com/ to my feed reader, and will be reading your posts from now on. Just a quick question – did you design your header image yourself, or have it done professionally? If you had it done by a professional, who was it?

Hi, thank you so much for reading and for the super nice comment! As for the header image – I actually found it on the wordpress theme directory. Here’s the link to the theme:
