Too much chicken, too many clementines

Hey everyone!  Sorry for the late post!  I thought I had already published it already!  Oh well, here it is now – a recap of last night’s dinner and dessert.

Dinner: Roast chicken sandwich with gravy, and a few bites of salad

I know I said in my last post that I wasn’t going to have chicken for dinner…but I did.  I had to eat some roast chicken before it went bad, so chicken it was.  It wasn’t too much chicken, though – it was just enough to make a small sandwich with a hamburger bun and some gravy.  It was so good because I don’t usually have chicken sandwiches – usually I just have the chicken and gravy by itself with rice or veggies on the side.

Dessert: 5 Clementines

I had peeled about 7 clementines yesterday to put in a container so that I could have them to snack on for the next few days.  I ate about 1 clementine while I was peeling the clementines, so about 6 were left to go in the container.  I had a few slices of clementine for dessert, and then I kept eating them and eating them – they were just so sweet and juicy – I couldn’t help myself!  The whole container is almost gone now, only about 1 clementine is left!  Can you believe that?!

So to recap, I had chicken for 4 meals yesterday (breakfast, snack, lunch, and dinner), and a total of 6 clementines (1 for a snack, 5 for dessert).  I should really work on eating a variety of foods today!  Maybe I’ll eat fish…or maybe a nice big salad with a lot of fruits (not just clementines!) and veggies!  Sounds good to me!

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Haha, I lack variety myself, I think you got quite a variety!

Hey, we have the same first name! :-)

I appreciate your approach to food. I know that many people (a la Geneen Roth) encourage this approach of just eating what and how much one truly wants to. I have often been temped to try this but have a terrible fear that all I’d eat for weeks on end would be macaroni and cheese and fried chicken. I like the idea of pre-peeling clementines though – what a concept!

Hey, thanks so much for stopping by, and for your sweet comment.

As for being tempted to eat too much of something when you eat what you want…well for me, I love lasagna and will eat it for a few days in a row and will tend to take big portions of it but I also try to add some veggies or fruit to my plate as well. If I continue to eat lasagna for the rest of that week, and maybe the next one, I find that I will take smaller portions of the lasagna because it doesn’t taste as special anymore since I’ve already had it a bunch of times. And then I get really tired of it and can’t wait to eat something else.

And the clementines – haha, yeah, I don’t know why I had never thought of pre-peeling them before! It makes me want to eat them more when I know I already have a bunch of clementine slices in a container pre-peeled because then all I have to do is eat them!

I truly believe there is no such thing as too many clementines! -e

Hey Emily, thanks so much for stopping by! And haha, yeah, that would be cool because clementines taste so yummy – it’s hard not to eat a bunch at a time!
