Baby it’s cold outside!
Is it just me, or does it feel like winter-time now?! Brrrr! The weather has been absolutely freezing lately! Which is quite funny, since just a couple of days ago it seriously felt like summer, no kidding! But I think that was just a fluke – I think the cold weather is here to stay!
Which means…I’ve been eating a lot of soups lately, especially my fave soup ever:

Yeah, that’s a recycled picture! It looks exactly the same every time you make it! Haha! Next time I’ll use a different bowl or something. Or maybe add some toppings! Time to vary it up a little!
So yes, soup in the cold weather is definitely understandable. Smoothies, however, really are not! For some reason, I have been craving smoothies like crazy! But, you see, I’ve figured it out – I have my summer smoothie and my winter smoothie:
- summer smoothie
- strawberry smoothie
- made with frozen strawberries, water, and applesauce
- light and refreshing
- winter smoothie
- banana smoothie.
- I just make it with milk and frozen banana (the simpler the smoothie, the better!)- it comes out nice and thick!
- The reason I like having the banana smoothie in the cold weather is because it’s kind of heavy, so it fills me up fast!
And for some reason, the banana smoothie reminds me of eggnog (the consistency, not the taste…or maybe I’m remembering wrong – is eggnog really thick or just sorta thick? Can’t remember now – haven’t had it in the longest time! But the holidays are fast approaching, so maybe I’ll have some then) so maybe that’s also why I like having it now – it’s reminiscent of the holidays!
As far as new foods go, hmmm…I’ve pretty much just been eating the same stuff that you’ve seen on the blog before. Sorry to bore ya! But I’ll be making some new soups and sandwiches pretty soon (like, in the next couple of days, so there will be exciting stuff on the blog before you know it!)
I will say that one variation on a classic meal that I ate the other day was this:

That would be little mini hot dogs (pigs in a blanket) with baked beans and some sliced apple on the side. Funny, I don’t think I’ve ever had baked beans with little mini hot dogs before, just with regular hot dogs. It’s weird how some things you just never try, until one day you do and you’re like, why didn’t I think of that before?!
Okay, that’s all for now! Hopefully between now and the next time I post I’ll make something interesting! Or maybe I’ll just make a nice creative food presentation, how about that?
Talk to you guys soon!
Have a good night, everyone!

Mmm that soup looks tasty. I’ve been on the comfort food bandwagon myself. I made a crazy good soup tonight. I’m planning more stews and pasta dishes too. Yum yum!
Your winter smoothie sounds really yummy. I might have to try that out.

Mmmm, pasta sounds so good right about now! Some baked ziti would be divine!
