Recap

Did I follow through on yesterday’s food plan?  Hmmm, kind of.

Yesterday’s eats:

Breakfast: Followed the plan exactly.  I had oatmeal with banana, topped with cinnamon.  (I decided on cinnamon since I planned on having the pomegranate seeds with yogurt for dessert).  I also had a glass of milk.

I decided to swap my planned lunch for dinner, and my planned dinner for lunch.

Lunch: I had a slice of cheese pizza topped with roasted red pepper (which I made myself!  Cool!).

The above picture is from my breakfast today, but for yesterday’s lunch I topped the pizza with probably about 3/4 to 1 whole roasted red pepper.  It made me really full!

I decided to have my dinner and dessert together.  I had a small bowl of salmon mixed with some olive oil.

Plus I had a small bowl of plain Greek yogurt mixed with about 1 1/2 spoonfuls of strawberry jam, and topped with pomegranate seeds.

These dishes don’t seem like a lot of food, but it was really filling.  The first dish contained Omega-3 fatty acids from the olive oil and the salmon, plus protein from the salmon.  The Greek yogurt also contained protein.  This meal actually made me really full…towards the end of the meal, my eating pace slowed way down, and it took me a very long time to finish both dishes.

So all in all, I followed some things from my food plan for the day, but not all.  It’s okay, though, it was fun to just plan my meals ahead of time to see if I actually followed through.

Today’s Eats:

 Breakfast:

I also had two cookies :)

Snack: A few walnuts.

Lunch:

Apple, sandwich, sweet potato fries

I ate the whole sandwich, about 3/4 of the apple, and 1/2 of the sweet potato fries.

Snack: A few grapes.

Dinner:  Some salmon (didn’t mix it with olive oil this time), plus a butternut squash ravioli.  (Sorry, no picture).  This doesn’t seem like a lot of food, but it made me really full because I was really hungry and scarfed everything down in probably less than 10 minutes.  If I had eaten more slowly, I probably would have eaten more for dinner.

Dessert: A bowl of Cheerios with 1/2 banana, and a glass of water.  I thought about having a glass of milk, but I felt like it would be too heavy since I wanted something really light for the last meal of the night.
